Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is an essential part of a well-rounded education in Pleasantville UFSD. We believe that academic success is deeply connected to students’ ability to understand and manage their emotions, build positive relationships, make responsible decisions, and navigate challenges with resilience. Through intentional instruction and a supportive school climate, we help students develop the self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making abilities that prepare them for success in school and in life. Across our schools, we provide a range of supports and services to nurture students’ social and emotional growth. These include classroom-based SEL instruction, counseling services, school psychologists and social workers, responsive student support teams, and opportunities for peer connection and leadership. By partnering with families and integrating SEL into daily learning experiences, we are committed to fostering safe, inclusive environments where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive.
